About
Paula is an artist and surface pattern designer living near Detroit Michigan. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University and practiced as an Occupational Therapist for over 30 years. Throughout her career, she wove the creative arts into her therapy sessions to enhance the health and well being of her clients, many of whom were children with sensory differences. Engaging with clay, finger paints and other mediums helped connect children with themselves. These creative/multi sensory activities were included in a book she co-authored titled“Please Teach All of Me”. This timeless book is still being used within the school system where it was developed.
As her career wound down, her energies turned to expanding her art vocation. She recently studied with the Milan Art Institute, adding breadth, depth and diversity to her existing skills.
Paula knows from her personal and professional experience that art and being creative connects us to ourselves, other living beings and to that which we don’t often even have the words to articulate.
